The quest For the golden carrot
Saturday 11th May, 12 – 5pm & Sunday 12th May, 10am start.
When you finish The Quest is down to you…
If you are up for a serious challenge, then The Quest for the Golden Carrot is for you.
There are 3 separate running events that, together, make up The Quest. Complete all of the events totalling 56.1km over the 24 hour period, and you can call yourself a finisher.
Too easy? The top 6 males and females (lowest cumulative time) will qualify for the Carrot Dash. This is a ‘winner-takes-it-all’ 1 mile race to win one of two exclusive Golden Carrot trophies.
To be Carrot Dash eligible, you must have completed the full 56.1km of the Trail Mix Challenge, Headlight Hop 10km and the Thump Half. There will be several opportunities to check the leaderboards throughout the Festival.
Minuimum age 17 years.
“There really isn’t a challenge quite like The Quest. Big distances, serious hills and if you want to walk away with the Golden Carrot… lightning speed.”
– Brian Corcoran, Event Director.
Each challenge, including the 5 different 5k courses, will be timed and you can see how you measure up over different terrain, distance, elevation and technicalities. To achieve quest completion, complete all 3 challenges, including a full time for the Trail Mix 25km Callenge. The top 6 males and females (lowest cumulative time) will then qualify for the Carrot Dash.
As The Quest is broken into different challenges, over 24 hours, this really is a test like no other. Strategy will play a part… Will you go out at pace or save you legs?
The Quest for the Golden Carrot really is a test of all the different skills required in running.
